Million Dollar Decorating with James Swan
Bruce Hodgson is Founder and Creative Director of Artichoke, a company known for designing highly original, classically detailed and elegant kitchens, fitted furniture and architectural joinery for English country houses.
Established in 1993, Artichoke has secured a reputation among private clients and the British interior design world for its fastidious attention to detail, vast knowledge of materials, architectural styles, mouldings, and an un-compromising approach to quality.
In particular the company has gained a reputation for designing large family kitchens and back of house joinery for country homes such as Butler’s pantries, boot rooms, sculleries along with architectural joinery. Bruce Hodgson and his team draw heavily on their knowledge of classical and period country house detail when designing rooms, accessing the Company’s vast database of accumulated period detail to do so. He is passionate about his client’s homes and he and his team take huge pride in their ability to really understand how their clients live and use the spaces being designed.
All of Bruce’s designs are made in Artichoke’s own workshops in Somerset, England.
