Bespoke Dressing Room Design

Specialists in creating beautiful period interiors and joinery, Artichoke has more than 25 years’ experience in bespoke dressing room design. We enjoy the challenges in creating a dressing room that is elegant, functional and spacious, taking into account the very specific nature of your own unique storage requirements.

We have designed dressing rooms for a huge variety of buildings, from grand classical homes to contemporary properties. It is our goal to exceed our clients’ expectations and to design and make spectacular rooms that fit beautifully with the architecture of your home. A dressing room is a highly personal area and it needs to be designed exactly to your specification to function. Understanding the types of clothes you wear, how you store them, what types of shoes and boots you own or what kind of security needs you require for valuables all make a huge difference to the success of the finished creation.

We understand the importance of incorporating aspects of your lifestyle when completing interior design projects. Small details such as whether you generally hang or fold your clothes make a huge difference to how your dressing room should be created. We take the time to understand the way you live in your home, ensuring that we get these details right.

To that end we begin every design project by undertaking a full interview, spending time with you to fully understand your storage requirements. Only when we understand your needs can our designing process begin. We are also highly experienced in working with architects and interior designers, either as a part of a large project team or directly.

Hand-painted boot room with antiqued oak bench seat, drawer fronts and interiors. Designed by Artichoke www.artichoke-ltd.com

Many of our projects involve working with stunning period properties and modernising them for 21st century living. We believe it is essential to do with this without compromising the natural aesthetic of a property. Working on a Queen Anne House in the Cotswolds, we were tasked with creating a beautiful boot room as well as a grand master dressing room. As on every project, we needed to ensure that each space fit in perfectly with the rest of the home. Utilising handsome antiqued oak and hand-painted furniture, the dressing room had no doors to give the room a boutique, haberdashery feel.

Case Study: Hampstead, London

Bespoke wardrobes in Cedar of Lebanon, American black walnut and leather handles. Designed and made by Artichoke in Somerset, England. www.artichoke-ltd.com

Artichoke specialise in creating bespoke dressing room furniture. We were commissioned to create a large set for a stunning property in Hampstead – they were to run for a total of over 12 metres. Over veneered with crown cut cedar with contrasting black walnut banding, the effect is both eye-catching and elegant.

Having designed commissions for properties in London, across the UK and internationally, we have designed everything from designing one off pieces to working on the full-scale redevelopment of a home in the Tuscan hills. Our design team are supported by a team of experienced cabinet makers that work out of purpose-built 14,000 square foot workshops in Somerset.

You can look through our extensive portfolio to see the projects we have worked on in the past. If any of the designs inspire you, please get in contact with us – we’d love to discuss your project with you.
