Vestibule | Georgian Renovation | Wiltshire

Designed in Collaboration with Todhunter Earle

This vestibule entrance for a newbuild house in Gloucestershire was conceptually designed by Emily Todhunter, and it was detailed and made by Artichoke following detailed design and survey work.  The room is lined in huge solid European walnut panels with a glazed screen looking through to the main hall, and it features a soft closing jib door leading into the guest cloakroom. The finish for the vestibule’s glazed screen was split, with the outside being finished in a dark walnut finish to match the rest of the doors in the hallway, while the interior is a light walnut to match the rest of the vestibule.  The specialist French polishing process used on the interior of the room creates a sun-bleached effect giving the impression that the panelling has been there for some time.  We used the same process to finish the study in this house.
